Travelin' Man

Got to thinking about Anthony

Bourdain the other day. How

would he have reacted to the

world-wide pandemic?

Travel was his profession,

people and places his life.

Often, I traveled with him

to Parts Unknown weekly

vicariously on TV.

I did a bit of traveling in my

day, and like Tony relied on

booze in abusive and unhealthy

ways.

Due to health and a need for

sobriety and sanity, I had to

eventually refrain from both.

I think often about Anthony.

I’m pretty sure that his defiant

and nomadic temperament

would not have allowed

him to self-impose shelter

in place.

I believe he would have

continued his drinking

and travels abroad.

And had he not taken his

own life, the virus may have

well done him in anyway.

One way or another, I’m

sure he may have admitted,

he was bound to travel on

no matter the case.
