These
difficult times will be remembered
long
after I’m gone, and at age 73, being
gone
won’t be long for me.
Still,
there will be history, written and
televised,
word of mouth by some who
shall
claim to have lived through it all.
Terrible!
they will say shaking their heads.
The
whole world was affected, except for
the
wealthy, and those who died of course.
Didn’t
matter to them anymore.
Worse
than the Great Depression, some say.
Historians
claim, the most difficult time for
our
country since the Civil War of 1864.
Presently,
at this point in time, as the medical
and
economic experts metaphorically opine,
we’re
in the second inning of a nine inning game.
The
other day, I heard a political pundit say
that
the President keeps moving the goal post.
For
the record, I’d like to add, seems very few
know
their asses from a hole in the ground.
How
could they when no one can agree on the
game
being played?
Guess
it’s the poor folk who are feeling the
brunt
of this national crisis. Seems they’re
just
along for the ride on the front lines and
dropping
like flies.
Either
way, where in hell were headed in
whichever
game they choose to play, who
can
say?
As
for me, stop the goddamn bus. I want off!
