No
need to change clothes. Few if any who may have
seen
me recently would recognize me any other way.
Out
of common courtesy and better judgment, they
would
likely not say anything about my dress being
the
same as yesterday.
And
with social distancing still underway, unless they
happen
to be down wind of me, no one would be able
to
detect my musty odor anyway.
Nowhere
to go, no visitors to impress or entertain, I
reckon,
no need for a change. Besides, I’m used to my
stale
and untidy condition day after day.
These
are unusual and unprecedented, hard times with
the
invisible killer virus spreading around.
No
need for me to add to the confusion and disunity,
begging
those in passing to question, is that old man
wearing
something different today?
No,
to the benefit of mankind as a whole, I believe it is far
better
for me to do my part and present a reassuring sense
of
familiarity.
As
they walk a safe distance away, I can always wave.
