In My Time

In my time, I have told a few women

that I loved them. Mostly later on, I

found out that I was sorely mistaken.

The number of women I have loved

and never told is far greater. I have

asked several women to make love

with me; a few without words made

love to me spontaneously. Twice,

no three times I have asked women

to marry me. One divorced; one said

yes but never did; one died medically

speaking, naturally. When I handed

the first wife divorce papers in her

idling car, she was pissed and told

me to get the hell out of her car.

I wisely and politely acquiesced,

asking her to please turn off the

ignition first.
