The World, a Better Place?

The world is a better place with you in it.

Has anyone ever said that to you? How

would they know that, anyway, speaking

alone individually for the wide world at

large? Could be one in 7.5 billion inhabi-

tants buzzing about the Planet who may

have something different to say—I don’t

know him from Adam, never met the guy.

So I just couldn’t say. For all I can tell one

person alone, bad or good, is not going to

make a helluva change. You know what

they say, it takes all kinds, and with that

said, the world changes every day. Some

days better; some days worse. If this guy

you’re speaking of has made the world a

better place, I’d sure like to see what he

could do for me. Hope he’s not one a them

door-knockin’ Jehovah's Witnesses, a sales

pitchin’ Amway person or a “fake it till ya

make it” AA sponsors. Besides, if he’s all

that good at making the world a better

place, he’ll either become a wealthy tele-

vangelist or wind up bein’ elected Presi-

dent. History’s seen lots a good and bad

folks over the years. I don’t know about

your guy in particular, but you take that

Jesus and Mussolini fella, you seen what

they done to them.
