Big Jim

Perhaps some day some will say, he did a lot in his lifetime,
travel, art, writing, experienced many a thing.

Then others will surely say, given his age, and in his time, he
should have done a hell of a lot more.

Mostly, though, the masses of humanity will have never heard
of him, and thus couldn’t care less.

There are so many others of fame and reputation of whom to
be made aware.

You could say the same anonymity applies to the lions or
tigers of the world.

They sleep, they mate, raise their offspring, they hunt and
devour their prey.

Every day in the jungle, everyone of their species is pretty
much the same.

Unless they are captured and raised in captivity, are given a
name and put on display.

To exemplify this story let us say, Big Jim is what they called
him, Big Jim the Bengal Tiger from India.

And when he died, his keepers stuffed him full of sawdust and
shellacked his wiry fur.

They put him on a pedestal at the zoo for all the visitors to see.
Had I been a Tiger like Big old Jim, that there could have been me.

People might say, what a beast was he!
