A
solemn reflection today—where we as
a
society and individually have been and
where
we’re going. At my advancing age
and
yours some heavy reflection I am
sure.
It has been a joyous journey and
stress
fully painful one at times, yours,
I
am certain, and mine. Some of you still
in
the game have made it through the Great
Depression
and WWII. Still more of us
recall
the assassination of a President and
Civil
Rights Leader, the Vietnam War and
to
date all the wars and deaths to follow.
Where
are the good times, you may be
asking?
You know and hold all those
precious
in your personal memories,
the
birth of your children, and for many
of
us grandchildren as well. Life, my friends,
life
as it is, was and always shall be, the end
and
new beginnings, repeated over and
over
again. The falling of autumn leaves
before
the winter; The flowering of lilies in
a
spring garden. The glorious bounties, the
crosses
to bear. Life shared. Tomorrow,
Easter
Sunday, and Resurrection once again.
