The
media, newsmen and women do not hover
around
Camp Point, Illinois or Muncie, Indiana.
You
will not see a news spray gathered on the
streets
of Dubuque, Iowa or Longmont, Colorado,
nor
or a pool of reporters camped out in Salina,
Kansas
or Pawtucket, Rhode Island unless there
has
been a mass murder or terrorist attack, a tor-
nado,
flood or earthquake. Birthday parties, holi-
day
parades, centennials and graduations are gen-
erally
not covered at the national news level. No,
you
will, however, be fed garbage TV news daily
covering
political shenanigans in and around
our
Nation’s Capital, Washington, D.C. Personally,
I
would prefer to see video scenarios addressing
Granny
Smith’s quilting bee or touting Aunt Ruthie’s
award
winning apple pie. On Tuesday, Little Timmy
Baker
crashed his bike and Dr. Troy of Danbury
treated
him for a broken arm. Timmy will be just
fine,
sources close to the family say. But he will
be
sporting a plaster cast with classmates signa-
tures
from Porter Elementay School in Birchwood
for
the next several weeks. Stay tuned to News Five
nightly
for more updates. (Now see, isn’t that a lot
more
pleasant?) Get well soon, Timmy…
Political scene in D.C.
be damned!
