All the Begotten

Adam and Eve

begat Cain and Abel,

biblically if not

literally speaking.

Abraham begat Isaac;

Isaac begat Jacob;

David begat Solomon;

Mary begat Jesus;

Mohammad begat Ibrahim.

In my case personally,

George and Bettie begat

Mark,

Christopher,

and David

who in turn begat

several of their own.

Who begat you

and some 7-billion others

who now survive

to inhabit

the planet today?

Uptown,

downtown,

farm and field,

all around,

there has been

a lot of begetting

going on.

So much so,

many of those

begotten

have long since

been lost or forgotten,

some pretty good folks,

I would say,

and some bad ones too.

I’m curious to know,

where this activity

of begetting

throughout history

will get the remainder

of begotten humanity

tomorrow?
