A couple of weeks after Christmas
I received a card from a friend in
Australia. (If you were reading my
Facebook post you would know.)
It takes a while to get mail from
12,000 miles away. There’s lots
of land and a big ocean along the
way.
Be that as it may, I responded in
kind, but figured e-mail would be
far quicker (light-speed messaging,
you know).
Anyhow, that was over a week ago,
and as of yet not a word back from
her. And then I entertained what may
be happening with her. I made every
excuse I could think of. It was then
I realized—A lot can happen half a
world away. So much can happen in
minutes throughout the day.
They say, time will tell. I certainly
hope so, for at my age time is
a dwindling commodity wasting
away.
