As I have done before after reading
one page, I turn to another. I’ve just
got to see what comes next.
And before I know it, I keep turning
pages again to see that which I have
not seen before.
That, my friends, is how we get
through life, turning pages to see
what comes next.
To say this is the way of life would
be metaphorically trite. Seems to
me I recall reading this story before.
I didn’t like the way it ended the
first time. Left me in suspended
animation wanting for more.
Instead, I turn to a blank page at
the last, leaving life itself up to
my vivid imagination.
And then the thought, who shall
know what I know? Well, you’ll just
have to read it and see for yourself.
It’s that hardbound, blue book on
the shelf over there. Bring it back
in good shape when you’re done.
