The Appropriate Use of a Scream

Young lady, I could have said,
should you be in dire distress
and scream to high heaven in
the middle of the night, awaken-
ing my dogs and me, indeed all

living and dead who reside on
the third floor of our apart-
ment building, I could rush to
the scene and assist you by
calling in a 911 emergency, or

you could quietly and with a
great deal of consideration for
others in the general vicinity
tell your boyfriend roommate
to move elsewhere should your

incompatibility cause you such
distress. How am I to know the
difference between the two?
Your high-volume and most
disturbing outburst at such an

unholy hour is a definite cause
for concern. Please learn the
appropriate use of a scream. It
is not to be taken lightly whether
used in anger or in freight in the

middle of the night. P.S. I shall
repeat: When in distress, by all
means, scream; when merely
pissed-off because you can’t
see eye-to-eye,get a new room-

mate. And I could have said,
but do so respectfully, and for
God’s sake, be more quiet!
