As we grow
on in years, the losses grow
Greater and
greater as well. We make
Those timely
and necessary withdrawals
On the Bank Account
Life. Simple things
Pass almost imperceptible
with the rapidly
Accumulating
days. My head was turned
The other
way when a bottle of Coke and
Snickers
bars were only a nickel. Pennies
Found lying
on the ground were a trea-
sures worth
reaching for. I thought Cap-
tain
Kangaroo and Roy Rogers would live
On forever.
And those were losses which
Never really
changed a thing, except when
Reminiscing about
the Good Ole Days. I
Can’t run
for distance anymore, and my
High stepping
has turned into a hobble.
We won’t
talk about friends and relations
Who left us
alone and out in the cold too
Soon. The tears
haven’t changed much,
Though. I can
still cry those Great Salt
Lakes aplenty.
