Pangaea, I say

Pangaea (the first continent on Earth) began in
the First Cretaceous. That was way before the
birds and bees, predating grasses and trees.
It was that prehistoric, pre-mammal, pre-human

time even before you and me. One continent
from which eventually seven continents came
to be. Pangaea, the Mother of all Continents,
remember that. Why, you ask? What good

should it do us all these billions of years later?
Might as well question the benefit of the sun
which factored into the evolution of the geniuses
many of us believe ourselves to be. Well, my

friends, consider this, without that Terra Firma
beginning, today we may be fish swimming in
an Earth covered completely by a sea. Without
intellect and our yearning for answers, Earth

would not even have a name to this day. Were
it not for Pangaea as a foundation to build upon,
we would not have rock-solid ground on which
to stand when we step out of our houses in the

morning. We can claim a kinship beginning with
Adam and Eve, I say, why not Pangaea? Tomorrow,
should we still have our footing about us, let’s
discuss the movement of tectonic plates, or per-

haps the separation of church and state.
