Today, I begin again
where I left off yesterday.
Another new beginning,
you could say. A long,
long way traveled to get
here. Stop, go, sunshine,
rain and snow, on the
paved and dusty roads,
off road too, mountain,
sea and air—journeys
taken me here and there.
Folks I have met and
left along the way
from childhood vigor to
these 76-years old and
gray. Wiser now than
way back when? Suppose
in knowing I can’t begin
all over again. Heavier
afoot now, situated where I
am, filled with memories
and imaginings of where
and when it all began,
closer day by day to the
end. No regrets, my friends.
Regards to all, and apologies
to some, but no regrets,
my friends.
