What are the Odds?

It’s 12:16 PM Central Daylight Time,

Kansas City, Missouri right here and

now, and I got to thinking—there are

some 340-million inhabitants in these

Good Old United States. What are the

chances one or more of them is right

now doing exactly what you are doing

at this time—cleaning house, driving

in your car, eating lunch, walking the

dog, tying your shoe, scratching an

itch, listening to Beethoven, Reading,

watching TV, even thinking what’s for

dinner, and so on. I’ll bet you dollars to

donuts, that not one of you folks are

like me, listening to Roger Miller and

You Can;t Roller Skate in a Buffalo Herd.

I’m feeling pretty damn unique right about

now—one in 340-million, I’m guessing.

And my critics said that I'd never amount

to anything.
