How
are things with you? Let me tell
you
how it goes with me. Yesterday,
my
computer gave me fits. It took my
son
to come over after his day teaching
school
to unwind the mess I had un-
wittingly
done by trying to download
a
stupid App which I never needed in
the
first place.
And
too, it took a call halfway around
the
world to the Phillipines and a pan-
icked
plea to a couteous technician in
order
to complete the fix properly.
I
swear I’m getting too old and short
on
patience to handle complex matters
such
as this on my own. A good indica-
tion
of my situation is revealed here in
my
writing, for I tend to ramble aim-
lessly
with these run-on sentences I
spit
out endlessly.
I
suppose my frustration comes from
the
fact that I’m home-bound and rely
upon
my computer and the Internet
to
get things done everyday. I shop, I
pay
bills, I communicate with the out-
side
world, I write these long mono-
logues
of mine on a timely and regular
basis.
Now, there are things we expect
and
become used to, things on which
we
rely to get us through each day.
When
I was a child many years ago,
sick
at home and unable to attend
school
that day, I depended upon
Captain
Kangaroo on TV to entertain
me
in the morning, and then Mickey
Mouse
Club in the afternoon.
Hell,
even with this modern technology
today,
things for me don’t seem quite
the
same. Enough of my bitchy com-
plaining,
how are things going for you?
Keep
it short if you don’t mind. Now
that
my computer is up and running,
I’m
pretty sure that I can find other
things
to do.
