All About You and Me

The writer—essayist and poet, the playwright,
the novelist and storyteller, the journalist
and chronicler of history have commonality

to achieve—to portray, enlighten, to arouse
and stimulate, to present the facts, to weave
the fantasies of you and me. Imagine in words

and imagery the myriad possibilities. You could
be the one for whom the bell tolls, the admired
Cinderella or the mocked and reviled Quasimodo

of society. Behind a pallid mask the Phantom of
the Opera lies the grotesque mirror image of the
hidden who you may be. Could be the glass slipper

fits your foot perfectly. Haven’t found your place
among the voluminous library of creation yet?
Truth be told, is your nose modeled after Cyrano

or Pinocchio? Read on.
