Had
I been a machinist who retired from
the
factory after forty years, had I been
married
to the same woman for fifty, had
the
home and neighborhood in which
I
live been the only place in adulthood I
have
ever known, had I grown from a young
man
to old mowing the grass on Saturdays
and
attending church services on Sundays,
I
would, in all likelihood, be a far different
person
than he who has been described in
the
aforementioned above. You can call
me
Bob or Fred, Sam or Jim. I am neither
nor
any of them. I have never ever in this
hodgepodge
lifetime of mine, or in any other
I
can recall, worn a name tag embroidered
with
my name.
