Had George and Bettie
not gotten together at a
specific time and place,
in this 13.8 billion year
time span, I may have
never been.
Had I been named Bob or
Bruce a year earlier or latter,
I as Christopher would likely
not be speaking to you right
now.
Think how the trillions of
stars in the Cosmos had to
align just right to form the
cellular conglomerate
creating the likes of you
and me individually.
Nothing short of incom-
prehensibly plausible, I
recon. Why, what were
the odds of a life suppor-
ting planet such as Earth
having coalesced in the
expansive universal
clutter to evolve and
harbor a species such
as ours?
Genetically, I may have
been born an opossum,
a pin oak tree, an Alex-
ander the Great or a
Thomas Edison in a
different place and time.
Ah, but here I am,
the wonder of me
speaking to the wonder
of you about this
unfathomable hodge-
podge Cosmic Soup.
Could have been
otherwise, don’t
you know?
