The age has come of Ending Seasons.
I have seen and lived through many—
sunshine, storm, wind, snow and rain.
What has been was meant for me, that
mostly which was up to me to take or
leave, some of which was bad shit, man!
Not to worry though, the good stuff was
enough to get me through. I have quoted
Mark Twain before, but here and now I
figure his thoughtful quip bears repeating
for it surely applies to me: “When I was
younger I could remember anything,
whether it happened or not; but I am
getting old, and soon I shall remember
only the latter.” Personally, I’ll take that
which was given me along the way, leaving
a trail of breadcrumbs behind. The Auto-
pilot of Old Age Reality leads me onward to
the Great Beyond. And should you choose,
you and the birds can snack on all the rest.
