Being
of a certain advancing age,
I
rise to another day—one more than
I
had yesterday, one fewer subtracted
from
the inventory than I shall have
tomorrow
(should my tenure here
on
Earth be extended).
At
this point, I have little to gain, as far
more
of me shall drain incrementally
from
the molecular biology of my being.
It
is now that I understand (in scientific
terms)
that the soluble properties of me
have
been meted out and dwindle with a
precise
degree of certainty.
Shocking!
In short, I am progressively
dissolving
microscopically, albeit naturally.
